Cast your mind back to 2010 – a time before the London 2012 Games, and you might remember that Qatar won the fierce bid to host the FIFA 2022 World Cup. It was a watershed moment with the global tournament awarded to the Middle East for the first time in its 92-year history.

Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles: Everything You Need to Know 

Also known as WAVs, a wheelchair accessible vehicle offers more freedom, flexibility, safety, and comfort to the mobility impaired. The term is used to describe any vehicle (car, minivan, or bus) that has been adapted to cater for wheelchair users. 

The majority of these are adapted for disabled passengers, rather than drivers, although the latter is also possible and usually comes with a higher degree of customisation. Passengers should be able to enter the vehicle in their wheelchair using a ramp or lift to one of the rear or side doors. Disability & travelling abroad during (and after) Covid-19

A survey conducted by Strive Mobility in partnership with Disability Horizons has found that nearly 60% of disabled and chronically ill people won’t travel abroad until we know more about Covid-19, and 39% until there is a vaccine. 49% also feel unhappy about the reopening of holiday accommodation in the UK.
