A great article by Martyn Sibley which we thought was definitely worth sharing: “How to feel more comfortable discussing disability” (click on the link below):

This is a great article on Bloomberg about how disability inclusion and accessibility remains a major issue! As the article states, “..businesses lose out on 2 billion pounds a month because of failing to meet the needs of disabled people.”
Covid-19 has stopped all of us from travelling. But with the vaccine rollout and restrictions beginning to lift, now could be a good time to start thinking about and planning your next holiday – and we all know that when you have a disability, time to plan is key.
Europe is a great option for an accessible holiday. It is a fascinating continent, full of history, culture and leisure activities. In many European cities, there is a wide range of accessible attractions, such as museums, ancient buildings, beaches, viewing platforms, churches, castles and much more.
After nearly 12 months of not being able to rent out mobility equipment, I’m pleased to say that www.StriveMobility.com is back and normal service is being resumed.
A survey conducted by Strive Mobility in partnership with Disability Horizons has found that nearly 60% of disabled and chronically ill people won’t travel abroad until we know more about Covid-19, and 39% until there is a vaccine. 49% also feel unhappy about the reopening of holiday accommodation in the UK.
Read on to find out what the new travel guidelines are for going abroad, what safety measures holiday accommodation in the UK have to put in place, and discover more about what disabled people really think about the new changes.

Whilst many of us are working in a safe environment at home, our amazing NHS staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to care for COVID-19 patients. And we want them to know that we are here for them. We are so proud and in awe of NHS staff and volunteers as they work tirelessly to save lives! This means staying away from their homes and families, working day and night, to treat as many people as possible in need of care.
In light of recent COVID-19 developments, we have taken the difficult decision to stop taking any further orders for the hire of mobility equipment with the exception of beds (see below).
Our suppliers make every effort to effectively clean all products before they are sent out again but nevertheless, we feel that it’s best to take a prudent approach and not re-use mobility equipment for the time being.
The situation is obviously not ideal but we feel that this is necessary to ensure the safety of our service users, the community in general and staff throughout the handling process. We will of course keep you updated with the situation and let you know once normal service can be resumed.
One of our suppliers has assured us that during this difficult period, they are able to fulfil our demand for bed hire. Prices include delivery, collection and decontamination.
